Privacy Policy

We collect the information you provide during the memorial creation process, including your pet's name, breed, photos, and the answers you give us about their life. We also collect your name and email address when you create an account. If you sign a guestbook, we collect the name and message you submit.

When you light a tribute candle on a memorial, we may optionally store the display name you choose and a coarse location description (for example derived from country or region inferred from IP and request headers — not GPS). Your IP address itself is handled like other server logs and processed only for security and approximate location labeling. Your browser may receive a tamper-evident cookie to enforce a modest daily candle limit per device.

We use your information solely to create and display your pet's memorial. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the service (see below) or to measure our advertising performance. We use the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors interact with our site after seeing our ads. Meta may receive anonymized data about site visits as part of this. As part of our service, we use your pet's breed information to identify a charitable organization to receive a donation made in your pet's name. We do not share your personal information with these organizations.

Photos you upload are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database and storage provider. Your photos are used only to display on your pet's memorial page.

Payments are processed by Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Account creation and sign-in is handled by Clerk. Clerk may collect email addresses and authentication data as part of this process. Clerk's privacy policy is available at clerk.com/privacy.

We use cookies for authentication and to keep you signed in. We also use the Meta Pixel, which may set cookies to help us measure the performance of our advertising. We do not use other advertising or tracking cookies.

You may request deletion of your memorial and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@cherished.pet. We will permanently delete your memorial, photos, and personal information within 30 days.

Cherished is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at cherished.pet/privacy with a new effective date.
